Experts in emerging autonomous vehicle technologies, M14Intelligence was one of my first projects carried out as a Freelancer. They wanted to redesign their old WordPress website while offering new data processing tools.

From WordPress to Symfony, a change of worlds

The need: abandoning WordPress for a higher-performance solution
Our client's initial observation was clear: WordPress was no longer suited to their requirements. The back office, considered too complex by the editors, and the insufficient performance of the site had become obstacles to their growth. They wanted a modern, fast, and bespoke solution.

A new ecosystem based on Symfony and Vue.js

We took a fresh start with the latest version of Symfony, integrating powerful tools like EasyAdmin for an intuitive back office and Vue.js for dynamic and responsive interfaces.
The result? A solid and flexible architecture, perfectly aligned with the client's needs.

Step 1: Data migration

The first challenge was to migrate all data from the old site without compromising its integrity. To do this, we exposed an API on the old WordPress site so that the new site could consume this data seamlessly. This method, designed to ensure performance and reliability, allowed for a smooth transition.

Step 2: A bespoke back office

We recreated all existing features while rethinking the user experience to meet the specific needs of the editors. As a bonus, we added innovative tools, such as dynamic popups highlighting market analyses directly linked to their publications.

Step 3: Reduced hosting costs

The switch to Symfony had a direct impact on resource optimisation. The site, which became lighter and more efficient, allowed the client to reduce the required server configuration. The result: significant savings on hosting without compromising on performance.

A result that meets expectations

By leaving WordPress for a modern Symfony environment, our client gained in performance, simplicity of use, and efficiency. This redesign marks a true change of direction and paves the way for peaceful and sustainable growth.

Real-time data display

A key need: an interactive and secure dashboard
One of the main objectives of this project was to set up a data visualisation panel, accessible only to subscribed users. Here are the steps we followed to meet this need:

Data processing process

The client used a large Excel file containing their analysis data, updated regularly.
To manage this complexity, we:

Designed an automated import process using a Python tool.
Browsed the data line by line to create implicit links between them.
Recorded the processed data in a structured database, ready to be used.

Data validation

Some data contained in the files was corrupted due to human error. To guarantee its reliability:

We established strict validation thresholds to detect and reject incorrect data.
These thresholds are configurable by the client, allowing them to adjust them according to market developments.

Data visualisation

Once the data was imported and validated, the objective was to make it accessible via a modern and high-performance interface:

We developed a dedicated API to allow data consumption from the database.
Users can explore the data according to several visualisation axes, such as:
- Country
- Vehicle type
- Brand

Thanks to Vue.js and Chart.js, the interface is interactive, dynamic and perfectly adapted to user needs.

User subscription management

Access to the dashboard is reserved for subscribed users. To ensure this restriction:

We integrated a third-party subscription management service.
Each user is identified at login, and their subscription is verified in real-time.
This connection with the third-party service also allows the client to obtain valuable data on subscriber profiles.

A dashboard that makes the difference

With this dashboard, our client has a powerful and modern tool to exploit their data in real-time while ensuring total control over subscriber-only access.

Automotive Big Data and system performance

The M14Intelligence project stood out for its ability to process massive volumes of data from the autonomous vehicle sector. The developed system manages millions of rows of complex data on sales and advanced technological components.

Sector-specific Big Data processing

The processed data included sales statistics for autonomous vehicles and market analyses of critical components such as Lidar systems, sensors, and other emerging technologies. The volume represented several million rows from complex industrial reports, requiring a large-scale data processing approach.

Advanced filtering system

A sophisticated taxonomisation system was developed with approximately 30 different filters allowing users to analyse data according to multiple axes: vehicle type, onboard technology, geographical region, time period, manufacturer, etc. These filters dynamically generate visualisations in the form of trend curves, pie charts and bar diagrams.

Stripe integration for subscriptions

Access to the premium dashboard is managed via a complete Stripe integration, allowing automated management of user subscriptions. This solution ensures robust access control while providing detailed analytics on subscriber profiles to optimise the commercial offering.

Performance and scalability

The optimised Symfony architecture allowed for a significant reduction in hosting costs compared to the old WordPress solution, while efficiently managing the processing of millions of records. The caching system and query optimisation ensure fast response times even on large datasets.
